Corporate Social Responsibility

Leno is an all Bahamian-owned company committed to providing the tools to help others succeed while preserving and enhancing that which is uniquely Bahamian. We pledge to promote and support those initiatives that deliver a greater sense of togetherness, belonging and responsibility to community through education, healthy lifestyles, volunteerism and economic diversification.

Education:

Because any advanced society depends upon an informed populace, Leno’s greatest commitment is to education with a focus on developing the whole person. The LENO LEAP, funded by the Leno Foundation, is established to jumpstart careers, provide internships at Leno and encourage and reward those who have the courage to change outcomes. Categories for inclusion include character-building in sports, music, Bahamian culture, the arts, technical and academic education leading to progressive leaders, innovators, and critical thinkers in financial services and economic diversification.

A Healthy Nation:

Because any productive society depends upon the well-being of its citizenry, the second pillar of Leno’s corporate social responsibility pledge is to provide support for initiatives promoting a healthier Bahamas!

Community-building through Volunteerism:

Leno believes that the greatest untapped resource in The Bahamas is its citizens, residents and visitors whose collective volunteer efforts could produce unlimited results. From revitalizing historic settlements to building better parks, from teaching a child to read to helping a senior citizen navigate the complexity of a virtual world, from planting a community vegetable garden to beautifying school grounds, the work of volunteers turns dreams into reality. Leno is proud to support that reality.

Leno Learning Link

Help put a tablet or laptop in every student’s hand!

Through a partnership between the Leno Foundation and the Ministry of Education, the Leno Learning Link seeks to provide every student throughout The Bahamas access to his or her very own laptop or tablet to aid in virtual learning in a COVID-challenged world.

LENO is proud to take the lead in this critical campaign with a donation of $60,000. Now we ask you to join us in ensuring that the virtual school door is not closed to any student. Nothing is more important than education and nothing more just than an equal chance at opportunity for all.

Your donation will help us meet our immediate goal of $1 million to provide the necessary tools for some 15,000 students in urgent need of a device to participate in the online learning platform this academic year.
